2016 In Photos

Well, well, well. If we all casually and collectively whip out our watches (or unlock our phone screens, I don’t know what I meant by watches either, is it the 21st century or not??) we will see that today is the 11th of January.

That is already 11 days of the New Year. The beautiful, promising 2017! And if we look at this post’s title, what conclusions can we make?

Hey, say it louder! For the people at the back!

This post is hella. fucking. late.

*PPAP starts playing in the distance for no reason*

Yeah I know, we said our goodbyes to 2016 and are mid-way into completing all our goals, aspirations and plans for 2017- no? Oh, okay, I thought I was the only one still wasting eating my life away!

Anyways, the point is that I acknowledge how late this post is but as I was climbing out of the depths of anxiety, illness and doubts, I still really wanted to say my proper goodbyes to the previous year. Just like the title suggests this post won’t have much talking in it, so I’ll shut up soon!

I want to say goodbye to one of the hardest years of my life – it put me and my family through a lot, it challenged me and crushed me to my lowest limits, but I am grateful that I was able to stand up again and, step by step, open a new page and start writing a new chapter with extremely shaky hands.

I’ve compiled this small visual something out of my favourite memories from 2016. Many others might have gotten lost in my folders that are currently overflowing, so these are definitely not all of them. Just the ones I remember and would like to keep! Though I’ve shared the majority of these either on my Instagram or its story, but please look at them again~

I hope you will enjoy it!

I wish a very friendly and hopeful year of 2017 for you and for myself. Let’s go back to the things we love, people we care about and tales we want to tell.

— Thank you —

  1. It’s okay to be late. Life has a way of messing up our plans…

Your pictures are all beautiful, and the way you set the up makes them all go together in such a pleasing way! Many of them I had already seen, but like this they appear to be more charming, somehow.

In a way, they’re a compilation of things you love. And the overall feeling is very you. But also a little cold and detached, in a sense that they seem to be of “exterior” things you love, and not actually involve the beauty that is YOU (inside, you know?).

Hopefully, in 2017 we get to see more of you taking pictures that reflect the beautiful things about yourself, that you love.

    1. Omg thank you so much ;-; Imagine what kind of photoshoots we could do if we were together~

If I were to reflect, I would agree with you – I have been obsessed with things lately and they’ve been in the centre of my focus this past year. However, I’d love to photograph people more ♥♥ I need brave souls that would not run away! I want to shoot so many candid shots aaaa ♥♥♥

      I love your thoughts!

    1. Thank you Noor!! I am hoping to have more posts like this in the future, it’s so good when you need to practice layouts * v *

That beautiful space is a new building next to the main university – a space with lecture halls and loads of conference rooms. The interior is so gorgeous though, I couldn’t stop myself from taking pictures~

Thank you again for all of your wishes, I hope the best for you too! Stay tough, stay creative!

  3. I don’t think it was that late at all! As bloggers, we can sometimes feel like we have to do things when everyone else is but I think that doing them in your own time is why we all started blogging in the first place. We wanted our own online spaces that we could do whatever we wanted with it. 2016 was a hard one for me too so I’m hoping this one goes better.

    1. Thank you, Monika! That soothed my worry about this post being late and you are so right about taking it at your own pace. I shall keep it in mind~

I hope your year of 2017 is going well!
